Keeping your Flo Angel menstrual cup clean is essential for hygiene, comfort and long-term durability. Regular rinsing and proper sanitising help prevent bacteria build-up, protect your vaginal health and extend the life of your reusable cup.

Before first use and after every cycle, sanitize to clear bacteria and odours.
Store
Air-dry fully, then store in a breathable pouch or sterilizer cup between cycles.
How to clean your cup
Cleaning your menstrual cup properly keeps it hygienic, odour-free and comfortable to wear throughout your cycle.
After removal and before reinserting, empty, rinse and wash your cup with a mild detergent soap and clean running water. Rinse thoroughly before re-inserting.
Out and about? If you can’t use soap — like in a public bathroom — simply empty your cup, wipe it with toilet paper and re-insert. Just be sure to wash it properly when you get home.
Avoid these - they can irritate your skin or damage your cup:
- Lubricants
- Anti-bacterial soaps
- Bleaches
Harsh chemicals and soaps — or soapy residue left behind — can sting and irritate delicate skin. A dishwasher is not suitable for washing your cup.

How to sanitize your cup
Before first use and after every cycle, sanitise your menstrual cup to remove bacteria and prevent stains and odours. There are three safe ways to sanitise your menstrual cup — choose the method that works best for you.
Microwave
After cleaning, place your cup in a microwaveable dish with enough water to cover it and boil. Ensure it boils for at least 2 minutes, let it rest 2 more minutes, then carefully remove and air-dry fully before storing.
Boil
Place your cup in a pot and pour in boiling water — keep it off the bottom so it doesn't scorch. Boil for 3 minutes, then set on a clean surface to air-dry completely before storing.
Chemical
Use a disinfectant sterilizing solution (liquid or tablet). Mix per instructions, fully submerge the cup with no air bubbles for 15–30 minutes, then remove and air-dry completely before storing.

You should sanitise your cup before first use and after every cycle. During your period, simply rinse and wash it with mild soap and water between emptying. Daily boiling or sterilising during your cycle is not necessary.
Can I use regular soap to wash my cup?
Yes — but only a mild, fragrance-free soap. Avoid harsh detergents, antibacterial soaps, bleach or oil-based cleansers, as these can irritate your skin and damage the silicone over time. Always rinse thoroughly before re-inserting.
